"Never think that a small action done to your neighbor is not worth much.
It is not how much we do that is pleasing to God, but how much love we put into that doing."

- Mother Theresa

The roll of the Usher in the Liturgical Celebration
is first and foremost to make people feel
welcome and comfortable.
In welcoming people into the Church building
and helping them to find a seat,
the Usher sets the tone for the Liturgy.

They also represent the parish community
as they greet guests who are visiting.
The first impression any guests will have
of our faith community
will usually come from their contact with an Usher.

Another aspect of the ministry of Usher
is to make people feel comfortable throughout the Mass.
The Usher is available to take care of any emergencies
and to aid anyone who becomes ill
and needs immediate assistance.

In taking up the collection,
the Usher helps to bring together the gifts of the community to be presented during the Preparation of the Gifts.

During the distribution of Communion,
it is the Usher who helps to direct
the flow of the Communion Procession.
